October 18th had finally come...time to take another peak at baby bean. I was very nervous going into the appointment. James was cool as a cucumber. I had no indication anything bad would happen; no bleeding or cramping. Still the nagging feeling that at this appointment everything could change...for better or for worse. We had to wait almost 30 minutes in the waiting room with our 2 year old. Lets just say that patience is not his virtue. James stepped out to give Jake some space and almost as soon as he leaves I get called. I went to the doorway and looked up and down the hall. No James or Jake anywhere. I called out and no response. I tell the nurse "I guess just I will get to peak". I head back and am put in a room. I am asked if I need to empty my bladder. Of course I do. I head back down the hall and I can hear Jake's shreaks coming my way. Finally we get settled in the u/s room and in comes the doctor. He does his usual peak and there is bean. He was not even going to measure until I asked him to. He tells me that baby is 30 cms long. "Good lord what is in there?" He corrects himself and says that baby is 3 cm long. Phew...I thought I had an alien. He said that we have an awesome start and he is releasing me to my ob. We get the green light. Looks like we are on our way.
