A new milestone has been reached today. I got to hear the heartbeat!!! My ob said that since I am pretty small that at 10 1/2 weeks we would be able to hear it and he was right. Poor James was out in the waiting room with Jake as Jacob had more important things to do, like play with all the new found toys. He says to me in the car on the way home "well, I got to see the hb last time and you didn't so now we are even". I have to say I feel very lucky to have gotten to hear it so early.
Now we are trying to make a decision as to whether or not to have CVS or amnio. I think amnio is in the lead but we still have a little time to make the decision so James said he wanted to research it a little more. He mentioned NOT wanting to know the sex of the baby even though we would know with the testing. He wants to be suprised. Now how am I going to keep this from him? I told him I have been surprised before and want to know and he is fine with this. I just hope I don't slip up.

Yea! It's fantastic that you heard the heartbeat! Sounds like things are progressing quite well for you!!!
And, I only give your hubby a couple of weeks before he begs you to tell him the sex. But, we'll see. Good luck with your testing decisions. Never an easy call.

Patty, that's so freekin' awesome! I'm sorry I didn't see your post from Monday in time to offer you support, but I'm so glad to see that the appointment went well. It must have been so amazing to hear that sound! I don't know how James is going to deal with you knowing the sex and him not, but we'll see. I bet Zeeks is right. Hey, as long as you tel US! :)
