I have entered a new decade

I am now officially 40. I had the birthday on labor day this year. We had a cake with the boys and presents. My oldest even came by to go out to dinner with me and brought his newest girlfriend. My husband started out great that day--breakfast in bed, cake, presents etc. Then, all of the sudden, he said he needed to work in the yard! WTF!?!?!? I was completely angry. This is MY day and shouldn't I get to decide what we will do? I said, um NO! He is like I have so many projects and I am so behind. I of course say well you had all those projects yesterday and will have them still but today is not the day to act like THAT is the most important thing. He always takes a week at Christmas around his birthday so I told him he could work on projects on his birthday and that entire week. What a friggin &#&@! He finally comes around and gives in (not before I start to cry). Do they get smarter with age?

No new peeks at baby. My actual doctor said that since they verified cardiac activity at my last appointment he did not think insurance would pay for another u/s. We were both disappointed. Luckily (or not luckily) m/s has kicked in and at least part of the day I feel nauseated. It is very reassuring but ugh I feel icky.

I will try and keep an open mind about the sex of this baby but I still am thinking blue. ;-)

Happy 40th! GOD YOU'RE OLD!!! Nah, I'm just kidding. Really - I'm kidding. Don't hate me.

Men are such idiots. I've learned to make my opinions known ahead of time instead of waiting until the day of. Like: Next week is my birthday and I want you available to me ALL DAY so that we can do whatever I want. It sucks that I have to do this, but it does work. So, remember this trick for #41, okay?

Happy Birthday Patty!!!!!!!!!! Sorry I missed it. I used to be so good about that sort of thing, but the ability to remember people's important days seems to have vanished with mommyhood. :)
