To Dallas and beyond

Well, we just got back from Dallas. We had a fabulous time. We went downtown to eat once we settled into our hotel. We ate at a mexican restaurant and I chose flautaus. They were great and Josh helped me scarf it up along with some soft tortillas the waitress brought for him. Then we went on a walk around the West End historic district and went into the West End marketplace and shopped a little. Next day went to the Age of Steam Railroad museum. James loves trains . There were several old steam trains. Unfortunately our camera card died and we lost the pics of it. Next stop Best Buy and a new camera memory card. Lunch was at an ultra cool Mcdonalds complete with hamburger and fries and coke built into it's design. We also went to the Dallas Zoo. I have to say this is one zoo you might wanna miss. Luckily it was free for us with our FOTZ membership so we were only out the money to park. It is under renovation so maybe it will be better later. We ate at Pappasito's for dinner then went back to the hotel for swimming and hot tub (the pic above is of a gorilla at the Dallas zoo. He/she seemed to want to size up ole Joshua). We went to the Dallas World aquariam the next day and it is definately worth the stop. More mexican food was on the agenda for dinner and a tour of historic homes followed. We shopped at the Galleria and visited the childrens museum. Jacob had fun at the museum but I have to say the entrance fee of $5.00 was ridiculous. It was more of a giant playhouse than a museum but hey Jake had fun so oh well. He used the grocery store and checkout and had a blast. We also toured Southfork Ranch around which the show Dallas was built. We found out no shows were shot inside. Only the outside of the house was used as a set. Southfork is amazingly small. They said mirrors were used to make the pool appear bigger so I am going to have to catch an old rerun and see if I can tell. Our last big sightseeing venture was to the Fort Worth zoo and it was great! It had a dinosaur exhibit going on and Jacob wanted to find them all. The set up was well thought out and bamboo lined many walkways. It was extremely busy and hot. Along some pathways there were mist stations that cooled us off. What a great idea that was. We spent most of the afternoon at the zoo and finished with a quest for our Dallas souvenir shirts. I can't wait until Josh and Jake are big enough to go to the water and amusement parks.

OMYGOD... When I first started to read that, I read that you chose "flatulus" at the mexican restaurant, and I thought that was mighty clever of you, since everything on the menu in a mexican restaurant causes FLATUS.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
