Update regarding layoffs

Thanks for all the wishes and prayers. As of current James still has a job. Apparently there will be 5,000 salaried layoffs! 14 plants will be idled over the course of the next few years. Grand total of unemployed...a whopping 25,000-30,000! I keep telling my husband to get a head hunter and start looking while he still has a job. Let's face it...you look far more attractive to another company employed than unemployed. He is fortunate to have his master's degree to fall back on. Many of the worker don't have a degree. Luckily (or unluckily depending on how you look at it) his degree protects him as he is considered a technical employee. This means we could be dragged along for the ride longer than many others. I know no company is safe these days. I just feel like he is on a sinking ship and just got a life raft. How long until it springs another leak? They did blow a lot of smoke about how chevy makes a truck 3 hours quicker than ford does and how they need to make high quality trucks faster with less people. I am not sure quality goes well with speed.
