Does anyone elses baby sound like a little velociraptor? Mine makes these cute little dinosaur like sounds so we have affectionately named him the velociraptor or 'the boy formerly known as V.' (the last one was created during a moment of sleep deprovation). He is growing like a weed though. I measured him (not completely accurately but as best I could) and he is almost 23 inches long. He is over 12 pounds (I have not weighed him recently) and looks like a budda baby.
Breastfeeding, I am happy to say, is going very smoothly. I plan on continuing for a couple more weeks then weaning him. I would like to get a handle on my menstral cycle again as we are actually considering having one more. That's right folks....possibly one more bambino. I am turning 39 this year and time is definately of the essence here. I have not had a cycle yet so I have no idea if I am fertile or not.
At my 6 week appointment my bp was back to normal. The ole doc asked if we had had intercourse yet. Well, we had and he says to me 'you know that breastfeeding does not keep you from getting pregnant'. I am like duh but I didn't give him the duh look. I just said 'I know. We have talked about it a little.' He said that it appears I have not yet ovulated but you cannot tell when your fertility returns so unless I want another then I had better use a condom. If I do want another then don't worry about it but pay attention to what I am doing. I am thinking...uh yeah right. I will chart my intercourse so we can know when we conceived....NOT. Right now we are taking the gamblers route to birth control. It took us awhile to get pregnant before and breastfeeding cannot be a fertility enhancer and if it happens then it is fine. James would have to be taking his vitamins for it to happen since that is the only way we have EVER conceived for whatever reason and at this time he is not taking them.
Joshua is sleeping fairly well but is still cosleeping. I have not gotten brave enough to try the bassinett thing and the previous suggestions (thanks girls). I actually only got awoken once last night at 530 am so I feel pretty lucky and don't want to rock the boat at this time (we went to bed at 1230am with a breastfeeding so it is really sort of like being up twice but once sounded good *wink*wink*).
We have actually braved two outings with just me, Jacob, and Josh and they went pretty smoothly. He does not like being in his car seat much and he actually cries once we get moving for a few minutes (not like most kids who calm down and sleep). He does not like to be in his swing for more than 5 or 10 minutes either. Jacob didn't either...are my children aliens? He does like his kick and play bouncer though. Jake turned on the vibrate mode and he loves it. Jake never liked the vibrate mode so it is odd that he was the one to turn it on for Joshua. Go figure.
Joshua just turned 6 weeks this past Saturday. I took Jake and Josh shopping for father's day and Jacob picked out some spiderman boxers for daddy. He also picked out the incredible gift bag and incredible card. Truely fitting for their incredible dad. James is such a great daddy. These boys are so lucky. Jacob and I (with Joshua on the counter in his bouncy) made James a cake (his favorate...the watergate cake) and wrote happy father's day from Jacob and Joshua on it with cookie decorating frosting. The letters ended up blurring but you could still read it on father's day.
Well, ta ta for now. I will try and post some pics a little later. Oh yes...the results of the poll are below. I guess I should have posted them earlier...sorry.
How big will Joshua be?

I'm glad all is well & that you are thinking of TTC again! It is also very encouraging that breastfeeding is going so well...that is awesome! I am also glad to hear that you were able to get out of the house with the two little ones...I'm sure that took a lot of planning! Take care & Best wishes, Cara A
Getting out with 2 is quite an experience isn't it? I still only do it if it's absolutely necessary. Gald to hear everything is going so well.
