Houston we have a delivery date...

Well....I went for my 37 week appointment this morning. I did all the usual stuff, deposited a present for dipping, got weighed (gained another pound), got the bp check (good lord it was 148/88! I took it last night and it was only 120/72 and 123/67 so WTF) and was asked to strip from the waist down. My doctor came in and checked Josh's hb and he sounded great. Next, in the land down under, he checked for progress. He says to me real matter of factly 'have you been having more contractions?' I say yes. He says 'you have made some more progress cervically.' I, of course, ask how much. He says 'you are at least 2 cm's dialated. I want you to come back in a week and get checked, if you make it until then. I want to induce you next Saturday.' I am stunned. He proceeds to tell me that he is on call next Saturday and he really wants me to have this baby and that I am now full term. I walk out in total shock. I thought I had at least 2 more weeks and now it is just ONE! Now what do I still need to do?

I made several phone calls including to biggest brother and my sister so Jake is taken care of for the actual induction time. Eric is spending the night Friday and will be here so we can leave early Saturday. Then my sister is coming to help out later in the morning so Jacob will be well taken care of.

Speaking of Jacob, last night he wakes up at like midnight (number 2 wake up) and the first words out of his mouth are 'I want the baby home'. I cannot believe how much he seems to have baby on the brain. I think he is a little stressed out. He is still not sleeping as well as he used to. Hopefully, he will relax a little more when Joshua is here. Poor guy. Wish there was some way to help his anxiety.

So, there ya have it. I guess unless I pop before then we will have our little bundle of joy home right after mother's day. What better way to spend mother's day weekend than becoming a mommy again. I am so darned excited. I will post if anything changes between now and then. Woohoo! Baby Josh is almost here!

I think that this is THE BEST WAY to spend Mother's Day weekend. Believe it or not one of my girlfriends was kinda negative on it being Mother's Day and having to be in the hospital. Eric was kinda that way too but he is a guy and just young so I understood his perspective. I, for one, say what better way to spend this weekend. Isn't this what it is all about anyways?

OMG! Teela! How are you doing? It has been such a long time. How old is baby now...like 9 months? Thanks to everyone for your encouraging words. They mean a lot.
