Guess where I was Monday evening

I spent almost 5 hours in labor/delivery. Here goes the story: I had just gone to the bathroom and gotten Josh up from his nap. I was watching tv when suddenly little Joey kicked my between my legs and a gush of water came. It saturated my underwear and my jeans. I am like...omg! Did my water just break? I called the ob who said, of course, I needed to go to the hospital immediately and asked if I needed a ride or was there someone who could drive me. I said I would call my husband. She asked how long that would take. I said 40 minutes. She said he needs to hurry. Husband made good time and was there in 35 minutes. We drove to the er who sent us up to L/D (my husband says I think she is sending us to the wrong place...we are not here to HAVE the baby). The nurse checks me in to my room and does a ph test for fluid....negative. She asked if I brought my wet pad or clothes. I said neither. I was having irregular contractions at that point. We wait an hour and recheck the ph and do a vag exam. 1 cm dialated and 50% effaced but she says I am still fairly thick. Ph neg for fluid but in the meantime my body has started to have contractions 2-4 minutes apart. Luckily they weren't painful and just uncomfortable. Long story short...I stay until 930 pm at which time I have been checked for dilation, which has not changed luckily. I get to go home and am told to make an ob appointment this week and not wait til my next one next week. I am supposed to rest on my side as much as possible. What a frightening experience. Guess I will see if I show any change this Friday as I am sure they will be checking now. Good grief! _________________
