Yet another cold and loss of "liquid gold"

Poor Joshua has another cold! I thought keeping them at home made them healthier. I think the culprit was a visit from the baby down the street last Wednesday who had a cold. He is handling it like a trooper and is actually sleeping in his own bed despite his runny nose.

The loss of my "liquid gold" is due to my precocious 3 year old. Jacob was working in the garage with daddy and decided to turn off the power strip to the freezer. I had noticed that the light to the freezer was out but thought nothing of it since I heard the suction turn on each time I opened it so I thought that a bulb had burned out. Well, after the third time I opened it and noticed the freezer did not seem so cold I saw that my cups of mommy milk that were on their sides and the milk had also gone to the side signaling that they had in fact thawed. I was so angry. My anger quickly turned to tears as I had to poor out each cup into the sink. James was like we could feed one to Joshua thinking this would ease my pain. I say we have no way of knowing how long they have been thawed so we have to pitch the whole batch. I have around 14 cups full in the garage freezer. I am thankful that I kept 5 inside our freezer in the house so I am not completely wiped out. Now I start over collecting my stash. Luckily I don't work this week so I have a few days to catch up. Weaning is right around the corner too since I am thinking of starting it at 4 months. What a crapper though.

We spent some time tonight out on the swing in the backyard. The toddler seat is now attached and Josh loves it. He fell asleep in it so Jacob and I played chase in the yard until Joshua awakened due to his lack of motion. A few pushes and it was back to la la land so Jake and I played some more. He was sitting in his rocking chair on the porch and next to him is an identical chair for when his friends come to visit. He said it was Ben's chair. He did so love his friend next door. I got an email from his mom today. I wish they were still here. James is thinking about making a questionnaire that the buyer will have to pass in order to purchase the home next door. Ideally we want another 3 year old boy and an infant but do hope to keep out any terrorists or extremists as well. Any screening questions you have would be appreciated.

Happy 3 month birthday to Bella. Time sure does fly. Congratulations to Lynn who had a wonderful u/s and is having her first boy! I can't wait for you to feel him kick. I hope you are able to enjoy your pregnancy more and more. And Katie...I know how hard it is to leave your little one for the first time. It does get easier. I remember how it felt leaving Eric and crying in my car as I pulled away. That damn mother/women's guilt thing will do it to ya everytime.

Does anyone out there have crazy relatives? My littlest brother, sad to say, will never be normal. He has been diagnosed schizo affective, which is a combination of his manic depression and schizo tendencies as I have been told. Well, he pulls out of the driveway after having delivered a pizza and crashes into a car. He realizes that his job will fire him if he has a wreck so what does he do.....He fleas the scene. The law did catch up with him and issued him 3 tickets, one of which was for fleeing the scene of an accident. Of course he was fired from his job also. I truly feel very sorry for him. I cannot imagine what it must be like to live with his illness. I worry for my own children as genetically they could inherit this disease. Eric is at the age where my brother first showed symptoms. Even if he makes it past this milestone it can still rear it's ugly head later. I hope and pray that none of my boys will have to deal with this. It would rip me apart to see them have to go through what he has gone through.

I'd be sick if my liquid gold supply were gone like that! Even though we're almost completely weaned I would have just died!!
